Château de Fleury is delighted to offer its first Summer Painting Course in July 2019.
The well established watercolour artist and tutor Simon Roberts will be running a tuition course
for artists of every level, from beginners to experts, in the beautiful grounds of the
Château de Fleury from Thursday 11 July to Tuesday 16 July.
Guests will arrive at the chateau around 4pm on Thursday 11th July. Relax then meet in the communal area for a champagne reception/meet and greet at 6pm, followed by dinner. Breakfast from 8am til 9am on Friday morning- see typical day below. The Painting holiday then runs through to Monday evening. Gala dinner and final round up. Tuesday morning - final breakfast and depart.
In this 4-day watercolour painting course Professional artist and tutor Simon Roberts will help you improve your watercolour painting skills - whatever your level. You’ll spend time painting in the grounds of the beautiful Château Fleury as well as in the picturesque neighbouring villages.
A Typical day:
After breakfast each morning, we’ll set off to our nearby painting location around 9.30am. Simon will help you set up, suggesting the best composition and techniques for that particular scene, often with a quick demonstration. Chairs, easels and boards plus all materials are supplied on our art holiday but feel free to bring your favourite brushes and paints. We’ll paint till around 12.30pm when we break for a picnic lunch. During the afternoon, we will either continue painting at the day’s location or return to the Château to finish off your morning’s painting. Dinner will be served at the Château lodgings or outside or at a nearby restaurant.
Price per person for a 4-day all-inclusive painting course: €1360.00.

Simon is a watercolour artist who honed his skills working as a commercial illustrator and storyboard artist. 8 years ago, Simon moved to France where he has continued to work remotely for production companies and advertising agencies as well as nurturing his love of drawing and painting en plein air. For the past 5 years, Simon has been running watercolour painting holidays and workshops based in the south of France.
