Fleury is a quiet village 45km south of Paris and 12km north of Fontainebleau. The Château de Fleury is based in the centre of the village and was built in the 1560s. An unsuccessful attempt on Cardinal Richelieu’s life is believed to have taken place in the 1600s.
Just 5 minutes away, between Fleury and Fontainebleau, lies the historic village of Barbizon where the pre-impressionist art movement flourished during the 19th century. Here there are some excellent restaurants, the local boulangerie, butcher and small grocery store.
The impressive Chateau de Fleury is set in 95 hectares and is surrounded by a stone wall. It boasts 17 apartments and a 2 bedroom house uniquely available for INSEAD students. The apartments range from 75m2 to 90m2 and in the main section, there is a large and well equipped communal area with sofas and dining tables for dinners and parties.
